Club Artizen
Ideas that reflect the heritage of India and a pathway to sustainable living.
Club Artizen is based on the idea of promoting craft-based sustainable living, enhancing artisan livelihoods in the process. Club Artizen is passionate about building a community that moves toward a green lifestyle, finding along the way stories, gifting ideas, artisans, and resources. ____________________________________________________________
The Problem
200 million artisans have left their traditional craft, with this number increasing post COVID. Scores of crafts are at risk of extinction due to the lack of adaptability to modern aesthetics, designs and processes, and a lack of a steady access to market. There was a need for dignified livelihood options for artisans who created eco-friendly products, especially using traditional Indian handicrafts.
Many solutions work as a mere marketplace, but artisans need solutions and support that stay the course, with a steady flow of income. There were also a significant number of people who wanted to take those first steps toward sustainable living, but weren’t quite sure how.
